What this site is, where the information comes from, and what we deliberately don't do.
A fan answer book, not an encyclopedia.
The wiki.gg database already covers item pages and raw data. This site covers what players actually type into Google: questions, console commands, fixes, and translation guides.
The Field Manual is an independent, English-first resource for Ostranauts. Each page targets one practical problem: a broken signal box, a reactor that won't start, a transponder warning, or a starter ship decision.
It is a fan project built for the community and for people learning how to build and run a game site. That second goal shapes how open the process is: sources are listed on each page, dates are attached to every verification, and stale entries get flagged rather than silently rewritten.

Every page lists what was checked and when.
- Official store pages and developer announcements from Blue Bottle Games.
- The community wiki (wiki.gg), which we treat as a reference, not a license to copy.
- Steam community threads, Reddit discussions, and YouTube walkthrough transcripts, all attributed where used.
Game updates can change any of this. If a page is stale, the fastest fix is telling us through the contact page.
Lines we keep.
These rules keep the site safe for readers and for us.
- No pirated downloads, crack links, or patch files hosted here. Translation guides point to the mod authors, not to mirrors.
- No verbatim copying of official store copy. Facts are rewritten in our own words with sources.
- No official support claim. We are not Blue Bottle Games and cannot fix your save.
